Colour Coding – Indicator Lights vs Warning Lights
Posted on June 7, 2021
Did you know the lights on your vehicles dash are colour-coded for a reason?
It is important that you know the difference between indicator lights and warning lights and that’s why they are colour-coded.
Indicator lights appear lighter in colour (yellow, blue, green, white) and appear often simply for information, confirming an action or function.
Warning lights, have a bolder appearance, either orange -an advisory issue that may require attention at some point or red- a warning that may require immediate attention, both indicate a problem with your vehicle. When the light flashes, it means that the problem is severe. You should pull your vehicle over immediately and contact your service department for assistance.
You may not know what all the lights mean, but now you'll know if you need to seek help from your service department or continue on your journey.
