We are deep into Summer Road Trip Season! If you haven’t Summer-ized your vehicle, here are 6 tips on where to start.
Tip #1: Get your oil and oil filter changed.  A clean filter means more material gets picked up. More material getting picked up means cleaner oil. Cleaner oil means a healthier, happier engine!
Tip #2: Double-check your fluid levels. Just like people, vehicles require a lot of fluids, especially in the summer.  Did you know one of the greatest causes of summer breakdowns is overheating. (psst when you book an oil change with Anchor Toyota, we top up your fluids for free.)
Tip #3: Keep an eye on tire pressure.   Make sure your tires are properly inflated before hitting the road, because tires with low air pressure tend to wear out a lot faster.
Tip #4: Assess your alignment. Does your car pull to one side, your steering wheel vibrates, or your steering wheel isn’t centered when you’re driving straight? Alignment can be thrown off by general wear and tear, or from rough roads, potholes, and curbs.
Tip #5: Test your battery.  Heat is the number one cause of battery failure and reduced battery life and can happen without warning.
Tip #6: Inspect those brakes. Stop-and-go traffic, long road trips, and fluctuating weather conditions may have done a number on your brakes. Whether your brakes are making bizarre noises or require extra pressure, it’s may be time for some fine tuning.
Don’t miss out on one second of summer fun.  Be road trip ready!
