The 2023 Toyota Camry vs. The 2023 Toyota Corolla
The 2023 Toyota Camry vs. The 2023 Toyota Corolla
The Toyota Camry and the Toyota Corolla are not only the two-best selling vehicles in the Toyota lineup, but they are also two of the best-selling cars in the industry, with the Camry leading the midsize segment and the Corolla leading the compact car segment. If you want a reliable, durable, stylish sedan, you’re likely considering the Toyota Camry and the Corolla. At Anchor Toyota in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, we have compared these two popular models to help you decide which is best for you.
Design
The Toyota Camry and Corolla offer seating for five, but the Camry is about 10 inches longer than the Corolla and about 2 inches wider, so it offers more cabin and cargo space.
Both models will keep you connected with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, but the Corolla offers a slightly larger display screen, with an 8-inch screen, compared to the 7-inch screen in the Camry, although the SE >Upgrade package includes a stunning 9-inch touchscreen.
Performance
Both models offer several powertrain options. Under the hood of the Camry, you will find either a 2.5-litre four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine, a 2.5-litre four-cylinder DOHC 16-Valve with Hybrid Synergy Drive engine, or a 3.5-litre V6 DOHC 24-Valve engine. The Corolla is equipped with either a 2.0-litre four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine or a 1.8-litre four-cylinder DOHC 16-Valve with Hybrid Synergy Drive, depending on the trim. Both vehicles come standard with front-wheel drive but offer all-wheel drive options.
With horsepower ranging from 202 horsepower to 301 horsepower, and torque ranging from 163 ft-lb to 267 ft-lb, depending on the engine, the Camry offers more power than the Corolla’s 138 to 169 horsepower range and 151 ft-lb and 156 lb-ft range of torque, but the Corolla is more fuel efficient, with an average of 4.4 to 7.6 litres per 100 kilometres combined city and highway driving, compared to the 4.8 to 10.8 litres you’ll get with the Camry.
